David,

I've had great luck with it for V3R7. The only downfall to it is their
abbreviations and cryptic jargon. Pull up any APAR that appears to be
fairly technical by the description and take a look...You will find what
*you* are searching for and the way it is recorded in the APAR ain't the
same.

If you are searching for a specific message, preface it with "MSG". For
example, I recently searched for CPF5140 and got nothing. I search for
MSGCPF5140 and I get valid hits.

HTH,

Mike Shaw

Folks:

Does anyone know how extensive the database of APAR's at
as400service.rochester.ibm.com is?

I've been trying to search for some problems, and I've found that
some things that (I THINK) should be in there, aren't.

Is this the same database that the IBM support reps use?

Thanks!

david
