May I assume that you are using Windows 95 or NT since you are using V3R1M3 of 
Client Access?  If so then 95 and NT come with simple TCP/IP functions.  Open a 
DOS window and try the following commands:
ping 
ftp
You don't need Client Access to use FTP.  Client Access can use TCP/IP to 
connect instead of SNA.  With the advent of named sessions available I don't 
see a whole lot of reason to use SNA for PC communications.  As far as 400 to 
400 I believe that if IBM duplicated all of the Object Connect commands 
(SAVRST...), along with SND... commands,  for TCP then we would be better off.  
Yes, us clever people can figure out how to do most of this ourselves.  But, 
IBM supported commands are nice.

I see people on the list talk about using FTP to upload binary files from their 
pc to the AS400.
What FTP Client are you using to do this.  I am connected via Client Access 
V3R1M3 over
a Token Ring Network.
