Rental Software

I am in the process of selecting software for a new client:

These folks are in the hardware business, 25% retail 75% wholesale,
so they are in need of distribution software... That seems pretty
easy at this point... but a fair amount of their business comes
from equipment rentals... Most is construction equipment... but they
also do lawn mowers,tillers, etc..... I need a very "BASIC" equipment
rental package... Contract creation and rental agreement,serial number
tracking,,etc..  

Anybody know of a package to do this.... I would prefer to stay away
from pc solutions if possible....

I don't have the time to write it myself,,, Y2K work is getting in the
way..
