Just a wild guess here.  I don't know if the option to specify the
number of increments of a file full situation is similar to an
enhancement introduced back in V2 that allowed you to take a retry
option when you received a record locked message in a batch program.
The key to taking advantage of that modification was that the RPG
program had to be recompiled.
