I configured a FSIOP in February of 1997 on V3R7 and I believe I remember
that after the initial create, when you varied it on for the first time, it
took a very long time (20 minutes or so) to actually come online. I made the
mistake of giving up and varying it back off, but I think there is a little
blurb in the manual explaining that the first time takes much longer than
usual.

You might try giving it a longer period of time to actually come up. Also I
am using Intranetware 4.11 on the original FSIOP. I didn't see where you
said which NOS you're using. Under V4R2 it might be different as well.

For what it's worth...

Subject: IPCS Woes

Can anyone give me a hint here.

I've configured the IPCS and done the VRYCFG on - once this completes the
manual insists that the ethernet line should be happily varied on. It
isn't!
If I try to vary it on it says I must use VRYCFG - and I've done that. I
can't
see any error messages in the log and don't know where else to look.

This is V4R2 on a 170 configured to use TCP/IP over ethernet.
