  • Subject: Audit Journal Entries Being Logged For Tape DEVD's
  • From: "Mike Shaw" <mshaw@xxxxxxxxxxxxxx>

Greetings,

In looking at the scope of effort to move our Model 530 (running V3R7) from
level 30 to level 40 security, I took all AF journal entries, code type T,
from the audit journal receivers for the last week.

The user profile QSYSOPR is logging 'A' type validation entries for two of
the tape devices (TAP02, TAP06) attached to the system. In looking at the
specific authorities for QSYSOPR for these tape devices, each *DEVD has
QSYSOPR *CHANGE specifically assigned....The authorities are the same for
TAP01 (and other tape devices) and no logging occurs for them and it happens
to be my alternate IPL device....

Has anyone seen this before....Am I missing something here or do I need a
PTF or two possibly....

TIA,

Mike Shaw
