Loyd,
If you want to use check object in a CL program pass the member name
PGM parm&MBRNAM)

DCL
 CHKOBJ OBJ(FILEA) OBJTYPE(*FILE) MBR(*MBRNAM)

or use

Use the command DSPFD type of information is member list to an outfile.
Declare the outfile in a Cl program and read in a loop.

PGM (PARM - member name to check)

DCLF QADFMBRL

DSPFD FILE(*LIBL/FILEA) TYPE(*MBRLIST) OUTPUT(*OUTFILE)
OUTFILE(QTEMP/QADFMBRL)

> OVRDBF QADFMBRL QTEMP/QADFMBRL
LOOP:
  RCVF
  MONMSG MSGID(CPF0864) EXEC(GOTO CMDLBL(END))
(Put your code here to Check Member Name entered against member in file)

END:
ENDPGM

If you want to Use check object
