FYI,

  A long time ago, I used software (Shareware) DOCSMASH to printout 2
pages
per side 8-1/2 x 11 shrunk down on a laser printer.

  As I recall, by passing parameters it will will shrink upto 4 pages
per side,
howerver, very small.

  I guess the idea is to "save a tree"!  From an AltaVista search today,
