We don't have the volume from the remote location that you have but we set ours
up with internet connection.

Here's what we have:

Main office:

Netopia Farallon router ($700) connected to ISDN line (U.S. West $85/mo) with
static IP address from NW Nexus our ISP ($95/mo for 250 hrs).
The router is configured to export telnet services to the internal IP address of
the AS/400. All other ports are closed.
Router at this time is limited to 10mps but then again, so is the card on our
AS/400.

The remote office:
WinNT box connected to local LAN with modem which dials out to local ISP at 56k
($19.95/mo) and runs WinGate ($250/5 user, $450/10 user, $700/unlimited) to
allow
local group to Telnet to main office.

For a larger group the NT box could be replaced with a router and faster
connection.

We looked into frame relay but the monthly cost was about the same as ISDN and
we
were told that frame relay only guarantees 28.8 connection. Also the frame
relay
installation cost was $1k at each end where ISDN cost $125 at our end.

HTH

(BTW, I'm not connected with any of the products mentioned)
