  • Subject: Dial In Commo & Support
  • From: Glenn Ericson <Glenn-Ericson@xxxxxxx>

I want to set up a dial in to the 400 from a remote site/office or home.
Thus a PC[desktop or Laptop] would be used in all cases.

The questions are:

1.What software will work on the PC side ?
The 400 is at V4R2M0 with TCP/IP running to a P390 and loop of PCs
and an HP III printer as the only printer]

The purpose would be for remote support/development and if possible
to also get to the 390 side on the same connection.
Hummingbird provides the PC stack support locally.

2. What modems might work on the AS400 for this & to which port?
There is the ECS modem at 33.6kbs [ a 7852?]

3.What needs to be considered IF more than one user
     wants to do this remotely

Glenn
