Unless someone REALLY flamed Mr. David Pendery of Info World, his "pissy" and
defensive tone REALLY undermines any credibility he might have had with me as a
JOURNALIST, which I am sure is what he wants to be considered.

He TOTALLY misses the point - if he is talking about a product and making 
sweeping
statements and generalizations about 64-bit computing like it is JUST on the
horizon, then as a JOURNALIST he does have an obligation to report ACCURATELY 
that
there ARE other formidable and competitive offerings "out there".

It's instances like this, that make you shake your head when on one hand, they
complain about being accussed of being Microsoft and Intel mouthpieces and than 
on
the other, behave like this (and that is CERTAINLY not to say that Info World
doesn't have some GREAT writers and maybe David was having a bad day...).

Footnote: Did you see where IBM is hedging bets and developing AIX for the 
Merced
for the RS/6000, "just in case" ?
