Are you using the Host Print function?  If yes, try this:

Each display device description has a parm PRTFILE.  It defaults to
QSYSPRT.  When you hit print key, this is the printer file that is used.

These commands did it for me:

CRTDUPOBJ OBJ(QSYSPRT) FROMLIB(QSYS) OBJTYPE(*FILE)+ NEWOBJ(QSYSPRT80)

CHGPRTF QSYSPRT80 PAGESIZE(24 80 *ROWCOL)
   - (ROWCOL parm i didn't specify, came from command prompter V4R1)

CHGDEVDSP QPADEV0002 PRTFILE(QSYSPRT80).

My host print key now creates a 24 by 80 spool file.  That should solve it.

Major (or only) drawback is that you have to change each device description.

I wouldn't recommend changing QSYSPRT to size 80, that would probably mess
up many other reports and system output.
