Hi All,

The AS/400 is still perceived as a dinasour even among the IT community.
(ex) If you flip through the employment ads in Computerworld, many
RPG openings are listed under the mainframe category. Many of these
ads are probably placed by "technical" recruiters who seem to have no
clue about the technical prowess of the AS/400. To them there are 
only 3 job categories : Internet, Client Server and everything else
under "mainframe". I don't expect any computer science graduates 
would want to land their first jobs in the "mainframe" world.

We need to educate our peers in the industry and then 
hope for a trickle down effect. IBM needs to focus on educating the
people who hold the purse strings.

Just my two cents...........
