AS/400 Ads - I actually saw one!!! -- MIDRANGE-L

Believe it or not, it's true. An AS/400 brand ad, previously thought to be as elusive as the 3-headed pac-marah of Alpha-centuri, has been sighted in a main-stream magazine!

In the May issue of 'Smart Money' there is a full-page AS/400 ad. While I can't say that I like the ad, at least it's there. Now, in the June issue I don't see any AS/400 ads, two IBM "Solutions" ads and some large number of Microsoft ads, but no AS/400 ads.

But at least I can tell my grandchildren that I actually saw an AS/400 ad. (Of course my grandchildren may not believe there ever was such a thing as an AS/400 -- a computer that never crashes, supports all current standards, is a great e-business server, runs your legacy back-office apps in 64-bit glory and has a low cost-of-ownership, it must be a fairy-tale, but that's another story).
