Hello Dave,

I haven't see a response to this yet:

The value *SAME when prompting any command means one of two things; either the 
prompt override 
program (POP) (which determines the current values for the CHGxxxx command) 
cannot find a 
valid value or there is no prompt override program.  If the POP cannot find a 
valid value 
because an error occurred there should be a message in the joblog.

In your case I'd suggest that the files for which *SAME is displayed do not 
have an associated 
LANGID which may indicate that they are old files (S/38, earlier AS/400 
versions).  The 
solution is to provide a LANGID as you have done.
