Well, of course it could be done. We'd have to do a fair bit of work
to allow this, though.  For example, we'd have to bring in the field
definitions a second time, renaming them to avoid conflict.  But, as
I said, this one ain't gonna get a lot of support.

FREE was removed because it just wouldn't work properly in ILE.  It's as
simple as that.  With a lot of work, some of the functionality could have
been implemented, but basically, it was deemed not worthwhile.

The replacement for the DEBUG opcode is the interactive debugger!

(BTW, even with a fancy interactive source debugger, I still sometimes use
the DSPLY opcode for debugging!.)
