Hello Marc,

First the disclaimer:  I provide consulting services in Australia for the 
product I am 
mentioning.

The best way to move data from AS/400 to NT (and vice-versa if you wish) is 
with DataMirror 
Corporation's Transformation Server product.

Checkout http://www.datamirror.com/ for further information.

You could use the AS/400 provided you secure the access.
