  • Subject: Installing V4R2 for the first time

I'm so excited! I think I've got one of the first copies of V4R2. The
CDs were still warm from the "burner." Ok, maybe not, but I'm still
excited. My machine is a new AS400e: 9404-600 with a 2034 processor and
it has taken about 3 hours to load, including the CUME PTF CD. Not too
bad.

I'm coming from a 9404 F10 so this is going to be a considerable
performance increase for us. Also, I'm planning to ditch my Micro
Integration gateways and running with Client Access.

Anyone else running V4R2 yet?

Anyone on the list running V4Rx on a Novell network? I'm interested in
how you chose to integrate the AS/400 into the LAN.

Thanks for your replies,

Paul
