You tell two programmers to "program" making a cup of tea. 

The first programmer, procedural, writes the steps from beginning to end,
starting with filling the teapot with water, placing it on the stove,
turning on the heat, ...  ... and ending with pouring the tea into the cup
(which had been placed on the saucer in an earlier step).

The second programer is OO, he goes to the cup and says, "Give me tea."
