Not only was that the right thing to say, but several facilities that you will
wish to take advantage of (like easy date manipulation & calculation) are 
readily
available in ILE-RPG.

Plus, if the customer has any white boxes-I beleive that these are not Y2K
certified!  IBM has (or at least had) an extesive discussion of these topics on
their web site.  I just took a client from the S/38 to a Model 500 running V3R7.
V3R7 & V3R2 allowed me to take advantage of things like the day of the week for
calculating calendar's and ILE/RPG for calculating days between dates.  I hope
