HP LJ 3si User Maintenance -- MIDRANGE-L

Sorry about this but I don't know who to ask this question to.

We have a HP Laser Jet 3si. On the LCD display it says 'User 
Maintenance'. It has said this for a long time, and I can't tell that 
anything is functioning incorrectly with it. What does it mean? How do 
I make it go away?

BTW, I'd look it up in the manual that came with the printer but 
someone here threw it away or at least put it somewhere. And, it is 
being used by the AS/400 via TCP/IP so maybe it isn't too off of the 
topic of this list. :-)
