My rule of thumb is 'If you're doing CL stuff, do it in CL. If you're
doing RPG stuff do it in RPG'

In other words, do it right by calling a CL program which would allow
you to do multiple commands, Monitor(MONMSG) for errors, take corrective
action(conditionally) and so on.

Pass information back to the RPG program (Pass or fail).

QCMDEXEC in my opinion is a #%@%$ way of doing any CL function in RPG.
Because of the fact that you can't monitor, do multiple commands and
all the rest.
The error information passed back on the QCMDEXEC is incomplete and cryptic
at best.

On the other hand, alot of people LOVE the QCMDEXEC function so
I'm probably wrong.
