Now don't laugh, but I was given a B10...

It worked fine until one day it wouldn't automatically IPL (SRC referred to
a system password that was required).  I thought that was the end of it,
but tried calling our IBM account manager for help.

Well, after the sob story about being given the box, that it would end up
in a skip rather than paying for the OS, and that it was only a play thing,
he agreed to take all the details as see what he could do.

Over the next month I received at least a dozen calls from different people
at IBM.  The outcome being that they updated their records as to the
current owner (they put down the company I work for rather than me), they
waived the OS charge, and they supplied the necessary system password.

So, good on you IBM... and if you do come across a great AS400 bargain, try
talking nicely to your IBM account manager first.
