It must be true.  I was at a site once that was replacing a S/34 and a
S/38 with an AS/400.
Two days after they brought in the AS/400 - and before conversion was
complete, the S/34 suffered a disk crash.  Two days later the S/38
suffered the same fate.

        I've always had the sneaking hunch that machines have a
proximity sensor and can
        tell when a newer machine is near by. :)
