  • From: "Guillermo Andrades [CPI]" <gab@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxx>

Hi to all,

Please if anynody can helpme...
(sorry my english)

AS/400 with several PCs accessing now to AS/400 using dlc32+802.2
netsoft in CAw95.
i want to change some PCs to use tcp/ip, and have made the
configuration, but:
--> PCs can't ping to the AS/400 (timed out)
--> CAw95 reports "Communication Error" with no more help.
--> PC to PC ping ok (i.e. in PC06 "ping PC11" reports 201.0.0.111)
--> AS/400 loopback is correct but can't ping to an PC.
--> STRHOSTSVR reports "PW9300D can't start IPX"

QSTRUP starts ok:
msg TCP1B03 "Ha arrancado la interfaz 201.0.0.1." (interface
started)
  MSG TCP1A01 "STRTCP completed"

info about my system:
CAw95 V3R1M2 with service pack SF43837 (the very last)
  AS/400 mod 200 V3R2 last cumulative TC97126 (temporary)
  IBM ethernet card 2617
System Name: CPI1 (works fine with Twinax & ethernet nic)

The \Windows\Hosts file:
  201.0.0.1 CPI1
  201.0.0.1 CPI1.DOMINIO400.CPI.COM
(also tested with the second line only)

TCP/IP running ok in the PC's (i use this for internet and so on),
and the two PCs can ping one to other.
TCP/IP in the windows 95 network:
the IP address with the address o the PC and 255.255.255.0 as
subred mask.
  the DNS deactivated.
