If you are a AS/400-RPG concentric shop. You really owe it to your 
self to look at IBM's VA/RPG.  You can convert & reuse some of your 
existing RPG code, not to mention skill sets.   TRUE GUI.  It will in 
the future (before you get too far in development) create Java bytecode.

So it will take you there.   It will have (next release I think)  native
TCP/IP support, etc, etc.

Not the same learning curve as some of the other GUI environments.
Just a thought
