Having an AS/400 connected to an Ethernet network is new to me,
as is this whole sitation. Currently, whenever something needs to
print, Netsoft is used to route the AS/400 output to the printer. This
seems like an extra step to me, can't something like a Jet Direct
card attached to the network be used to handle the output directly
from the AS/400? Would autoconfig pick up the Jet Direct?

Specifically, I need to send output to an HP 2930 printer, which
looks like it handles ASCII codes. What is the best way to
accomplish this? Is there a particular manual that addresses
networks and printing?
