Thought a few might find this interesting:

A new IDC consultant report entitled "Speed to Deploy
Differences Among Server Architectures" is now available.
This report compares the AS/400 to PC-LAN based
systems (largely NT Server) and Midrange-based systems
(largely UNIX) across several Speed to Deploy metrics.
The AS/400 won!
"...AS/400 servers clearly led with higher customer
satisfaction, faster time to market for deploying new
applications, and considerably fewer man months of
developers' time."
The specific results of the survey include:
                                            AS/400 PC LAN Midrange
Customer Satisfaction 1.9 2.1 2.4
Time to Deploy (months) 5.8 6.2 7.5
Person Months to Deploy 38.5 53.1 51.4
The AS/400 won despite the following environmental differences
# of users 72 49

% of respondents 86% 62% 66%
with multiple locations
Lines of custom code 1220 600 900
