Subject: Current Unprotected Used

I recently upgraded my AS/400 from V3R6 to V3R7. I just applied all
PTF's that were on the system Permanently. This brought my Current
Unprotected Used down from over a gig to roughly 175 meg. That was on
a
Sunday night. The next day, my Current Unprotected shot back up to
over
a gig again. Any ideas what could be causing this. I am now at close
to 1.4gig of temporary objects. Is there any way I can see what is
taking up this space. I'm thinking about IPL'ing tonight and seeing
what happens. Any suggestions?

After an IPL you will see the same thing happen again. All temporary
work space (PAGs, Job control blocks, etc. etc.) will go away, and will
build up rapidly again as you start running jobs after the IPL. Over
1GB does seem a little on the high side (you don't mention what your
total disk capacity is), but it depends on a few things:

On WRKSYSSTS how many "Jobs in the system"
Setting of SYSVAL's QTOTJOB & QACTJOB.
