"Proven" is a loaded word, you betcha.  :)

FWIW, as the firewall was approaching completion here in Rochester, the
developers held an invitational, encouraging anyone on-site to attempt
to hack through it.

Blair,

I thought the Firewall code was 'ported' from an existing product, 
hence you could in a sense claim it was proven ?
