Yes.  But if your time frame is 6 months away, IBM is being very open about
the fact that V4R2 will be out by then, with native notes.  The FSIOP may
not scale well enough for your future requirements.

No.  The IBMer was referring to native notes, which is likely what you want.

This is a configuration issue.  You need to talk to whomever you source
your hardware from.  This week happens to be a big hardware week for IBM,
with everybody ordering 640s and 650 before the Friday deadline for this
year delivery.  I suspect you should wait for next week to ask this.  One
of the problems that IBM is facing is that price of the 600 is so cheap,
that there's not enough profit in it to sell it.
