An easier way to do it, is by copying the service pack that you downloaded
from IBM to your AS400. Goto a Windows 95 machine that has Client Access
loaded, and start up Explorer. Open Network Neighbourhood, open your AS400
system, and go to the following directory QCA400/WIN32/Service/Image.
Expand the service pack file (SF42728) to the Image directory, and now
everytime the Check Version program runs, it will find the latest service
pack. The only downside of this, is that you do a DSPPTF on 5763XD1, it
will not show you what level of service pack is loaded, but that is only
minor.
