The next GA release (v3r1m3) of Client Access is supposed to have the
ability to name devices for PC5250 when the connection is TCP/IP. The beta
of this, available at <http://www.as400.ibm.com/clientaccess>, does not.

Client Access releases are not coordinated with any OS release. This new GA
should work all the way back to v3r1 of the OS, AFAIK.
