Thought about it, but they are so rarely restored (they're really just
'insurance') that it's no problem having a separate tape file (also it's
easy to find with that name on the DSPTAP that we run as the last step
of the nightly backup job).

Just something like:

RSTOBJ OBJ(*ALL) SAVLIB(QSYS) DEV(TAP02) SEQNBR(127)
LABEL('QSYS_Hist_Logs') MBROPT(*ALL) ALWOBJDIF(*ALL)
