Don,

We do this all the time, although it is a 2 step process. On the PC
we create an Excell spread sheet that receives external data via ODBC.
This inturns automatically runs Microsoft Query on the PC that defines
which records we want loaded into the file. Once this is done we save
it. From that point on, all you do is open the spreadsheet and go to
the DATA option and select refresh data. It will then go to the AS/400
and update the records in the spread sheet. We then open a Mail merge
Word document (which I am sure you can do in Word perfect), and it
automatically fills in the information.

I know that the ladies in Marketing run this every day to send out
mailings to everyone that they have talked to that day.

HTH
