Hi, Dean

I'm just starting to learn Java. It's not just a Web applet language, it
can be run stand-alone, which gives us, maybe, a better tool than C or C++
for system stuff. Java's similar to these latter but somewhat simpler and
safer to code.

Also, the HTML stuff in DDS doesn't serve data (by itself). But we do have
net.data, which is another thing to learn >8-(  that lets us use SQL in web
pages, returning formatted html.

Also, IBM has a new AS/400 Toolbox for Java that offers access to many of
the same AS/400 services that we have through Client Access.

Then IBM is positioning Java as THE object-oriented solution on the AS/400.
But, of course, where is Envy today? ;-)
