SMP & CGI function in AS/400 -- MIDRANGE-L

I'm interested on having "DB2 Symmetric Multiprocessing for OS/400(SMP)"
features in AS/400 530 model 2162(with 4 cpu); however, I do not know
how much effort I need to enhance on my application softwares before I
can see the improvement. I would like to know is there anyone currently
using SMP for batch processing and is there any major improvement on
batch processing ?

With OS V3R7,  I looking for some sample coding that can interface with
RPG programs. Anyone done this before ?
