Re[2]: QESTELE Data Area

 
Thank you to everyone who responded to my problem with the Motorola modem.

Armed with the information that nothing needed to preceed the 
phone number, I tried '9,18003270949'.  No luck.  I requested and 
received a fax from Motorola, which indicated commas are not 
allowed.  I retried ':', which the modem manual defines as the 
character for "Wait for dial tone".  Still no luck.  Finally, I 
substituted 'W', which the modem manual defines as the character 
for "Wait for second type of dial tone".  Viola!  I am now in the 
midst of a PTF download at breakneck speed! <g>
