  • Subject: FTP Question...NT-PC to AS/400
  • From: Gadde <gadde@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx>

Hi everybody,
Is there a way to FTP a PC flatfile (binary file) to an AS/400 file
without writing any conversion program on AS/400?
        Details are as below:
This flat file has been created by dowloading a table on SQL Server
in the native format. If you look at the data in the flat file, the numeric
values are all special characters. I tried to FTP this flatfile in binary
mode to a file on the AS/400 which has exactly the same data structure. But
I couldn't really accomplish this task. Are there any preliminary steps that
I am overlooking or I need to have a conversion program on the AS/400 to put
the flatfile into the right file, once I get the file to AS/400 system.

Thanks in advance
Babu.
