I'm almost 100% positive (99-44/100%?) that the twisted pair circuit is
balanced.  The balanced configuration means that any electrical noise will
affect both wires of the pair.  When the signal hits the balun (a
transformer), the interference 'runs into itself,' electrically speaking,
and cancels itself out.
