Thanks for the help Paul, but I don't think that either of those is the
answer.  This transfer worked fine using Rumba and Windows 3.11, but
when we 'upgraded' to windows 95 and client access we began to
experience these problems.

But anyway, the data does not shift an additional character each record,
but is off by1  character beginning with record 2.
