I attended the IBM Tech. Conf. in San Diego last month.  One of the   
presenters (could it have been you, Jon Paris?) made the comment that the   
recent enhancement to RPG IV to support long names was there to enable   
calls to Java methods.

PS

Mr. Paris also recommended Midrange-L as a good source of help from   
AS/400 experts.  But I guess I'm preaching to the converted. :)

IBM is saying that you will 'easily' be able to web-enable legacy
applications next year.  I suspect that they will have to be upgraded   
into
ILE.
