I am trying to print through a Warp Server(WS) running netbios
and tcpip. I can print from other machines to the printer
but not the AS/400. I can telnet and ftp to the WS successfully
but cannot get the lpr command to work on the AS/400. I am
trying to get this to work interactively on the 400, before I
set up a remote passthru queue. Any thoughts as to why this
might NOT be working? The physical printer name is IBM4039L and
it is on LPT1 ... I have tried every combination possible when
entering on the commandline as follows:

 LPR RMTSYS(HOOD.AIMSLLC.COM) PRTQ(LPT1) FILE(QSYSPRT)
        MFRTYPMDL(*IBM4039HP)

       -or-

 LPR RMTSYS(HOOD.AIMSLLC.COM) PRTQ(IBM4039L) FILE(QSYSPRT)
        MFRTYPMDL(*IBM4039HP)

<<

I normally do not followup to my own posts, but this should
help others as well. The problem that I was having, was that
my AS/400 was not listed in the hosts table (all others were,
but I had overlooked this problem). I then issued an LPR
RMTSYS(*INTNETADR) PRTQ(IBM4039L) FILE(QSYSPRT) MFRTYPMDL(*IBM
4039HP) INETADDR(XXX.XXX.XXX.XXX) where XXX...XXX is the IP
address of the remote printq. Once I made those minor changes,
it works like a charm. I have been dealing with TCP/IP for
over 10 years, and it never ceases to amaze me how small things
can really mess up a perfectly good weekend!! <g>
