There are several issues with service actions that relate to the control
panel (where the date and time are stored). If your control panel was
disconnected during the upgrade process several things can happen ie.
advancing to 1/1 of the next year (a problem fixed with ptfs in version 2),
and resetting back to "0" (8/23/28). If your CE follows the repair
instructions properly, he/she will see a note in the Repair Guide's Control
Panel Installation procedure that says: "Note: Set the system time and
date after completing this procedure." The CE should have IPLed in Manual
to check the date and time.

I don't know what IBM's CE are told about this, but we train our Customer
Service Engineers specifically on this issue. They must follow the
instructions in the book.
