Y2K Silver Bullet redux

I dropped by Dan Harrow's place today to chat. He's the one with the "AS/400
Millennium Silver Bullet" product. I expected him to give me a really
difficult time due to all the criticism his press release got on this and
other lists. 

Instead, he thanked me for the fact that his phone is rining off the wall. He
said that he was getting calls from all over from people expressing an active
interest in his offering. 

Frankly, this amazed me. I was hoping this exposure would convince him to cut
back on his claims, and to relabel the product a little more realistically.
Instead he is convinced that he is on the right track, now.

My request, then, is to those of you who approached him as a viable solution
to your problems. I am curious what it was about his claims that piqued your
interest. Respond directly to me rather than clutter up the list.

I want to know how a company can get away with claiming to have a silver
bullet, and get away with it in an informed environment such as this one.
