  • Subject: Win95, emulation, and memory problems

Maybe I have a new twist on the problem. A client of mine is trying to
connect the Win95 machine to their AS/400 via twinax and an IBM enhanced
emulation board, running Personal Communications (P-Comm, to the support
world).

The problem they are having is in the realm of memory. The emulation board
diagnostics maintains that the memory it requires is not available. I talked
them through resetting base address for 16 different addresses (they are in
Detroit, I am in Philadelphia). Still no luck. I thought Microsoft told me we
wouldn't have these kinds of problems with Win95.

Any ideas on where to turn to? [Hint: the IBM support team has been less than
helpful - seems to be a trend these days].
