If I remember properly, your assumption is not correct. We use SFLRCDNBR
keyword to display a particular page of the subfile. At the time of EXFMT
or WRITE, the screen displays the subfile page that has the relative rec
number stored in SFLRCDNBR. Means, if we have 18 in SFLRCDNBR, and when we
do EXFMT, the screen displays the subfile page in which this 18th record is
there. This is very handy to display different pages at different points.

There is another keyword SFLCSRRRN which returns the relative record number
of the subfile record where the cursor is placed. It takes some time to
understand the difference between SFLRCDNBR and SFLCSRRRN. But they are
very useful for inquiry and maintenance applications. I have several
subfile applications and in all of them I used SFLRCDNBR. Anyway check the
manuals once again. Good luck.
