THANK YOU!  I couldn't agree with you more. Locale of Reference, 
Proper ITER behavior, and the rest.  Where were you 3-4 days ago?
BTW try the *INxx IFEQ *ON - LEAVE - ENDIF as part of the "READ" function,
--- No ENDIF at bottom, Just the ENDDO.  It makes the "What does this ENDIF
pertain to" simpler.
