We're running Synoptics' LATTISRING 2705B and LATTISNET 2705 Token Ring
Concentrators (plus an IBM 8228 MAU for connections to the AS400s in the
computer room).

We're only running them at 4 Mbps (although both they and the cards in the
PCs are rated at 16; our wiring isn't), and they're working just fine. They
patch to individual PCs through unshielded twisted pair. Most PCs have
jacks that patch directly to the wall jacks without baluns, although there
are a couple that do use baluns.
