ICFW Status

Where I work we mainly use PCs connected to our AS400 through an
ethernet connection. Netsoft emulation is running on the PCs. Every so
often a user trying to connect will hang. WRKACTJOB shows the job with a
status of ICFW. The file open is QCNDDMF in QSYS.

Sometimes I can get around the hang up by having the person turn their
pc off, creating a duplicate object from QCNDDMF in my work library,
deleting the one in QSYS, then creating a duplicate from the one in my
work library to QSYS. This does not always work.

IPLing the 400 always clears this error, but of course I can't do this
in the middle of the day.

Does anyone know what causes this, and how to get around it or fix it.
